Selected Auctions have a 'No Import Tax/Fee guaranteed' scheme offer, and they are clearly marked in item title, as well as in descriptions. A logo such as this one below

(sample logo only)

will be displayed. When you see this logo, it means we offer 'Import fee paid for by DigitalRev' scheme for that particular auction.

  • Apply to selected auctions only.

  • Apply to UK customers with UK address only.

How the Scheme works?

  1. The import tax/fee will normally be collected by the delivery driver on your door. You can pay by cash or cheque. Sometimes you can also pay by credit card to the carrier over the phone.

  2. Keep the custom receipt or the sticker on the packaging, showing the total amount of import fee charged.

  3. You can either fax it to us (a UK fax number will be provided), or take a digital photo of it and email to us. You can also post it to us.

  4. Your import tax/fee/duty will be reimbursed in FULL within 24 hours after receiving your fax/email or post.

  5. Please email us regarding VAT Reclaim issues within 3 months of receiving your parcel. If you contact us after 3 months, we will no longer be able to handle your VAT Reclaim as it'll be beyond our handling time.

BEWARE some other sellers' confusing, misleading and empty 'No VAT' promises.

There are some dishonest sellers on eBay giving empty promise or claim that their auctions are No VAT warranted. Don't fall victim of these scams as they do not offer a proper scheme for your interest and protections. How to spot these empty and false claims/promises:

  • If an auction claim to be 'No VAT', 'NO import duty/tax', etc. in the item title, but with NO details in the auction description, it is very likely that it's an false claim and empty promise.

  • If an auction claims to 'reimburse you' import tax, but with no details how how they are going to do so, it is very likely that it's an empty promise. We know at least one seller who break their promise and didn't reimburse the customer.

  • If an auction claims to 'no import fee or we reimburse you', yet claim that they could (illegally) declare your parcel as 'No commercial value', it is highly likely this is an empty and false promise. These sellers are running a (illegal) tax scams rather than a genuine import fee reimbursement scheme. The parcel under false declaration of 'No commercial value' will not get away from the customs, and both you and the sellers will be held responsible.

  • Ask the seller how they are going to keep their promise if the import fee is charged, and see what their response is. You will be surprised to find that many these dishonest sellers don't have a detailed scheme at all.

  • There is a new 'trick' being used recently by many dishonest sellers: They claim 'No UK import Duty Warranted' - Yes they are telling the truth - there is No duty on Digital products in the UK and other EU countries. But their import duty is narrowly defined to 'duty only', not including VAT and customs clearance fee. They are simply trying to mislead and confuse you.

Please support honest business who make a marginal profit instead of dishonest businesses who use false 'no vat warranted' promise to scam extra profit from tax systems. Their illegal and unethical actions not only damage the fair competition environment on eBay, but also put their customers' reputation in risk.
